Noise: Duh, I chose to live across from a parking garage. It didn't occur to me that every night at 2am while I'm trying to sleep, that there will be police cars all over, THE noisiest drunks/college kids causing not only noise but SEVERE damage all over (and I'm from a college town known for partying!), and police choppers in the air for half hour blocks repeatedly.
We looked at our apartment on a busy Saturday, its even noisier in the evenings.
Then, add the bus noise. Yeah, having the bus is great right there, the stop is right at the end of the steps. But only if you're going to the Queen Mary or Pine. From 6am til like 1am you hear the bus blarring by every 10-15 minutes.
Across the street they are building new high rise condos. At an already busy intersection. Add in load after load of -------- blarring mexi music, and white trash perverts yelling at women all day, along with all the construction.
Camden is trying to get a permit to pass to tear down the entire 1st building (guest welcome center), so they can build a big huge high rise building instead, to compete with the new high rise condos next door. They want to take out your gym, package room, welcome center, business centers, theater and rec room-- So they can make more money, and I don't doubt they're next going to sucker people in to buy options and renovating this ---- mess.
Oh, and I know my downstairs neighbors (until a week and a half ago when they moved out) sexual habits and patterns. I know what they argue about, and I know when he's on top ;) Even with our tv on. Just because you have a top unit with no shared walls, does not mean you don't hear whats below you, more than you usually care to know :(
Office Staff: The worst employee- Jeremy. If you have a choice of dealing with him about anything at all other than giving him more money, or flushing your head in the toilet while swallowing knives and setting your ass on fire--- Trust me, you'll take the second option to toture yourself. He is the most worthless person on the face of this planet!!!
Every office employee has been fired or quit in the 14 months I've been here, with the exception of Shelly Patty. She's really nice when you move in and even pretends to know your name! After a month, you are nothing but commission in her pocket!
The security relations guy, whatever the hell he is supposed to be, is a tall lanky bean pole with a wretched attitude. I seriously wish it were legal to punch him, and many times I've questioned whether I should do it even though its not. And I don't believe in harsh violence. Its that bad here...
Animals: They allow both dogs and cats. Up to 25-30 pounds I believe. Well, many residents have large breed dogs, that out weigh the limit by 50 pounds. Not only that, you hear all the dogs constantly. All hours of the night, no matter what floor you're on!
Dogs pee in the elevators. Especially building 3 on the west end. There is a permanent dog pee stain in the middle right side of the elevator that is about 2 feet in diameter. I've cleaned up the pee on several occassions myself, even though I do not have a dog. I've written 2 letters to the office, made 8 phone calls (all messages b/c they never answer the phone), and finally got ahold of Jeremy in person! That was two weeks ago now, I told them they need to CLEAN the elevator floor, with an enzym cleaner specifically made for pets. Not send the cleaning crew to dilly dally around and push water with dish soap around on the floor, leaving it sticky and wet. NOTHING has been done, its still there!
My apartment, which does not contain any pets, has started to permanently smell like dog pee! My nose burns. Your nose burns in the hall of this building, in the elevators.. every floor.
Even drunk party guys pee in our elevator! And outside on our property. I see them outside, and smell them in the elevators. They get home with their girls at 2:30-3am yelling and screaming all in the elevator, garage, down the halls. Do NOT take an apartment anywhere near the elevators!
Bums: In the last six months the occurance of bums on our property at all hours of the day/night has increased at least 20%. They pee and poop all over the property. I know, because I personally see them doing it.
They sneak into our garage. They harrass people in the garage. They leave drug needles in the garage. And recently, they've taken up leaving their shopping carts full of germs and God knows what, in the garage as well, right by the mail boxes and elevators!!! There are hardly any mirrors or cameras around the garage. You never know what's behind the wall as you walk in the garage. And they have these outcoves along the outside wall of the garage. People can easily, and do, hide in them to attack people as they are getting in/out their cars.
Vandalism: Our garage looks like a gang hang out more and more lately. Graffiti all over the walls. Inside the elevators. Cars are being broken into almost weekly lately. My neighbor's car was and his stero stollen. My truck was keyed bad all around the outside of it, including one window, and one of the cargo metal hooks was stollen out of my truck. They yanked it apart from my bedliner.
Trash: Residents leave their trash all over the buildings/garage. Used cups and wrappers all along the halls, and especially the big round tables at the entrance of the buildings and on the floors up higher. They leave their trash OUTSIDE of the trash room, thinking somebody will throw it out for them. Bags and bags of trash, outside in the hall just outside of the trash room! Or inside the trash room. The concept of a trash chute doesn't enter their minds I guess.
The garage is always full of trash everywhere. Trash cans over flowing daily, sometimes up to 3 feet all over the ground around it. And now the cig. cans are over flowing all the time.
Package room: If you can have it delivered to work or pick it up, do it! They will either lose your stuff, open it, or break it.
Gym: Its small, only 16 people at a time in there. Half the machines are nasty and/or don't work. The TV's don't work right, and volume only goes down, not up, with the remotes, no matter what button you push. They took the water out recently, which was almost always empty. And replaced it with a vending machine, so again, they get more money.
Bussiness centers: If people are in the gym, forget about it. It sounds like the ceiling is going to fall in on you so bad you're scared to even go in there much less work in there.
Units: Something is always broke when you move in, it takes weeks to get it fixed, unless you want a Mexican worker who doesn't speak English for crap coming into your apartment when you're not home. I'll add that the male workers all look and act like perverts, and I wouldn't trust them alone. I was home when my dryer got fixed (they forgot to put the vent on the back!) and it was all I could do to keep him eyeing the dryer instead of my cash jar on the kitchen counter!
They purposely paint the walls with the bare minimum so they can charge you to repaint. If you touch the wall the paint chips off.
They never remember to clean or change air filters, ours was WAY old and moldy when we moved in.
Ovens are hardly ever clean when you move in too. But they sure charge you for doing it, but its just never done once you pay them!
Electricity: SoCal Edison Electric. Its a rip off. Its your only choice for service. when I moved in last summer, our bill was 80-90/month average. I kept the air on 72 24/7, had lights on all the time, ran misc appliances daily, total waster of electricity. Winter rolls around and our bill is 50-70 avg/monthly, same wastefullness. Since March we've purposely watched our electricity usage because our bill kept creeping up a few here a few there. Since March we've kept the air at 80 24/7, used only microwave some, no lights at all until 8pm-11pm, and the only appliances regularly ran are the fridge and one computer. This summer, using at least half the old amount of electricity at the same wattage ratio/price, our bill is double/triple what it normally is. 160 for August, last year using wasteful amount of energy it was 80! The less you use-the more we charge! That is their REAL co. moto.
And we're screwed no matter what, we're allowed less kilowats/day for our sq ft than what our fridge eats up! Due to Camden and not putting in energy effeciant appliances in the units. On pupose! And you aren't allowed any EElectric programs for cost either, due to Camden!
Your windows are constantly filthy on the outsides, they never clean them. The bbq's down at the pool never ever work, and if they do by chance, only half way. Half the time they have them broken apart. You're paying for them, but can never use them it seems.
They hardly ever clean the pools. The big one is the worst. Oil and body germs floating all along the top for weeks at a time, and seriously the same poo turd sittin in the bottom of the pool for 3 days straight!!!
The elevators are constantly breaking down. They leave flyers all over speaking down to you like you're an idiot 5 year old.
Security, they brag about it, but it DOES NOT exist! Tickets, smickets, they aren't anything b/c you don't pay a dime for them. People hang out around the doors to the buildings and around the elevators to get in. There was a bum on the first floor camped out in front of the stair room just last week in my building!
You pay for everything, you are suckered into "look and lease" deals. Like us, unkowingly back then. Our deposit was a special at only 300 100 for keys, yeah you have a key deposit too! Now that its time to move out, I'm certain they'll think of bogus stuff to charge us for so we end up paying more than we paid for a deposit. But they don't really do anything to your apartments when you move out. Pro cleaning they say they need''' That's a group of their cleaning staff with the same hoover you rented from the store to clean it already, only its attached to a long blue smurf tube they shove out your balcony door. Its loud, but that's about it, and it certainly does NOT clean, as evident to our hall way carpets they clean weekly and look worse each time!
OH, and as I wrap this up.. Your keys you paid for, 80% of them aren't updated. You wont be able to get in anyplace but the gym. All those amenities you paid for, you can't access! You have to sit there and wait to get an updated key.. which I've done 4 times now, and still can't get in anywhere but the gym/elevators/my unit.
If anybody even acknowledges you in the office, its to get your money, that's it. If you need anything else, good or bad, the average wait time at any time of the day its open, is 20-30 minutes. Nobody knows what they're doing in there if it isn't taking your money. And I'll clarify for you, its only to move in when they even do that to get your money. Once you've signed a lease, you are scum at the base of a scab on a bum's butt in Egypt to them. Its only the new lease signers who get their mouths salivating to do their jobs. And even that mobility of their brains/bodies is limited...
Please do not move in here! My old apartment in COMPTON was 80% better than this place after the first month I lived here, I regreted not living in the ghetto.. I liked paying 300/month for exactly what I get at this hell bucket, that I pay just under 2k for now!

As for staffing, Shelly Patty is no longer here either! My move-in agent is gone now. There have been three managers during my six months living here! I have found Jeremy to be the only friendly, personable staff member here, so I'll have to agree to disagree with you on your assesment of him. He is te only one to consistently make an earnest effort to resolve my concerns.
