into moving here. When we visited the Welcome Center, the staff made is seem that they were professional and on top of things. That only lasted until we paid our deposit and signed the lease. Now we see that all the negative comments written here are only the tip of the iceberg. Our calls to the office go unreturned, and after no response we go to the office only to have to wait while they "help" prospective prey, um I mean tenants. It is almost worth breaking our lease and losing our deposit to get out of here.
Then there's the garage...
Why don't they just put up a "FREE PARKING" sign. It seems almost daily I have someone flying up behind me and then staying about a foot off my back bumper trying to come into the garage. Just last night it happened again. The girl who did it even had the nerve to come up to me and ask what is the fastest way out to get to Pine Street. As she walked off, she turned and asked if I knew of a way to get in without "one of those pass things" to get her car out later. I told her the garage is for residents only and she might get towed. "Yeah, right!" was the laughing response. And unfortunately, she was correct. We have been here a few months now and NOTHING has been done about unauthorized cars in the garage. Who knows' Maybe I will stand at the entrance with my "pass thing" and let people in for a small fee. It can go to help pay our outrageous rent that funds free parking for non-residents. It's not like there is any security or management person that will notice. Many people I have spoken to have said they have complained to the office staff about it, so it's not like they don't know. It's obvious that they just don't care.

You can't break lease and only be out your deposit. Sadly, you are charged, first, last, and current month's rent. Plus a fee for finding new tenants, one to two months rent. For their smallest unit, its costs 4 thousand dollars to break lease. I know because I tried and threw up in my mouth some upon hearing that. The only way you can break lease early is if you find new tenants. Can't sublet, but you can bring in new people. If their credit is good enough to approve for the amartment like yours, and they sign the lease over to finish, you're out scott free! The problem is getting new tenants to sign the lease over, nobody wants to, and if they do they usually don't after getting a real view of the place, or they want a different unit than yours. Its sucks, good luck in hell, it just makes it that much better once you can leave! I'm living in Mexifornia thug land now, and its horribly sad that I pay half the amount of rent, have a place twice as big, and feel at least 100% safer and more content here as a white girl with Mexican gang thugs getting arressted up and down the street every night almost. Good idea on the parking admission, that's the smartest thing I've read to deal with that problem lol, I say go for it! ;) |
