I lived at Gondolier for six months between 1995 and 1996. I'm sure rents must have at least doubled in the meantime. My groundfloor studio got flooded once. Someone from the maintenance team came to clean up the floor but unfortunately I couldn't be around as I had to be in school. Well, when I came back my CD player was gone and I could see that someone had looked through my stuff. I reported the whole thing to the manager at the time, who refunded me for it. But around the time I moved out someone threw away stuff I had temporarily left behind (photos etc.) for a few days. Probably a personal vengeance, following the manager's internal enquiry over the CD player theft. Came back to Long Beach years later for a vacation, only to find out in the local paper that a woman had been killed at Gondolier. Well, probably not the safest place either.
