I moved in from 2002 to 2006 when I attended cal state. It was a last minute decision to move in because school started the next day and still couldn't find a place. Stayed there my entire college life cuz the rent is cheap and kept saying to myself that it's only temp

Parking: one assigned covered parking. However, we had many many car vandalisms, car windows were broken, stereo were stolen, ...... that was very common. Managers tried to put more lights at the parking structure and change the remote passcodes, but vandalism didn't stop. I didn't feel safe parking my car so occasionally if street parking was available, I would park there (not recommended but at least I can see it since my apt faced the street) :(.

Noise level: thin wall so you can hear your neighbor pretty loud and clear. Moving out, watching TV, listening to music....you know it all.

Appearance and construction: apt looks ok from the outside. They are pretty good in disguising so don't fall for it. The apt itself is a nightmare. It's quite spacious for a studio. However, no AC, no heater, no bathroom vent. Summer is very hot because there is only one window so the "coolest" place would be by the window. The further you get from the window, the hotter it gets. Vice versa for winter. Besides, the apt has old cabinets (i mean 1970 old, you can check out the sticker they still keep inside the cabinets). Not appealing with the rusted and molded surface. Electric stove, can get expensive if you cook too much. Old sink and bathtub. Ceiling leakage from the rain is common.

Safety: bad neighborhood, very ghetto. Police sirens drove by every night (i mean it). People arguing on the streets are common, can get loud on weekends.

Maintenance and staff: usally respond and act on the request quickly. However, the only way to contact them is by email. The office is always closed and the main office at Paradise Garden is very slacked off, uninformed, and unfriendly. They don't know what's going on at Kerrwood and usally refer tenants back to the apt manager who is never there.

Others: water shut off is common at this apt. Occasionlly they shut off without warning. The worst nightmare when you are taking a shower. Rent started at 495, later jumped to 595, then 625.
