BAD MANAGEMENT

From: -Anonymous-
Date posted: 8/28/2003
Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2003

We moved into this building a little less than a month ago. We had our car broken into the second night, to which we were told that this rarely happens even though we spoke to three other people who have had thier cars broken into in the last 6 months. We did not get our parking key cards until three and a half weeks after we moved in. Poor apartment and parking management. The noice from Pine Street (Kohiba's and Cousin Jacks) is extremely LOUD even though were were told by the manager that the noice could not be heard from our unit. On a Thursday, Friday of Saturday you can hear the noice with the windows shut and the TV on. The noice does not bother us since we go to sleep late but we have talked to six other tenants that have made numerous complaints to management and are in the process of hiring legal representation.

Other problems (due to poor management):
- Elevator has been broken 5 times in three weeks.
- We were stuck in the elevator talking to the security gaurds for 30 minutes before they tought to call the fire department to get us out. Stuck in the elevator for a total of one hour.
- 5 other times in three weeks the elevator has been broken with people stuck.
- Found that the doors to access the resident portion of the buildings were not being locked (so much for security)

We have complained to management and we get no response. They cannot even seem to get us Keycards for our parking structure.

Neighborhood:
Pro's
- Good eating and a fun nightlife
- Over the movie theatre (AMC)
- Everything is within walking distance (Movies, Gyms, resturants, Wallmart, Grocery stores)
- Freeway close (710) 2 minutes away

Con's
- Over the movie theatre (VERY LOUD on weekends and have had the cops down there twice for gang fights)
- Pacific park (House to homeless) accross the street
- Have seem five cars pulled over in front of the building on Pacific street and the occupants arrested
- Not a place for a woman to go out alone after dark

Summary:
The apartments are nice and well maintained (aside from the elevators) but the management company must make better efforts to serve the residents as several residents are fed up. From talking to long time residents, they feel that the service by management and the buildings safety has declined greatly since the change in management.
