When you tour the place, you see renovations, nice flooring on the third floor, nice city life, and a nice gym. When you move in, you discover just how successfully Cohiba's sound system can blast its way into your bedroom--a few hundred feet away (on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and even Sunday night.) Let's not argue degrees here--the noise pounds at your bedroom window with THE FIST OF GOD.

The AMC downstairs is a bad neighborhood. I have been there three times, and hated each visit. The cops have come many times. Once, they came in force (a hundred cops) and one even told me to stay inside because of the expectation of a follow up to an earlier gang fight. The security guards that are supposed to work for us spend all of their time in front of the theater.

The unresponsive security guards did nothing to stop parties that raged on until dawn's early light. One had 'recovered' stolen property of mine, and returned it to another person. He knew that the property was mine, but played stupid.

The renovation of the elevator lobbies (really small rooms) has gone on for many months as they change the color scheme almost daily. It seem's more of a pet project for the owners wife than a neccessity. While they try the trial and error approach to decorating, I have to look at a trail of leaky trash bag stains that have been in the hallway for more than a year. It just adds insult to injury that the decor in the lobbies is still so ugly.

Most of the 'improvements' seem to be along the tour route for prospective tenants. The rest really bites.

The gym seems nice, but doesn't fit the needs of those who use it. Most prefer to use the one treadmill, which has proven to be inconvenient. Most stop using the gym altogether.

The staff is great. Things get fixed quickly, and the management in the office has acted quickly on complaints of bad neighbors. Its too bad that the owners are cheap. This place is too expensive to have these problems. There are other newer and nicer apartments opening up in the immediate area.
