I only visited this apartment complex for a viewing but from what I saw, I would highly recommend that you stay far far away. I wouldn't even live here if I were paid to do so.

First of all, everything looks fine when you first approach the building. The exterior is nicely maintained. The front office has nice furniture and a friendly staff. However, upon entering the building for my tour, I saw that a forensics investigator was leaving. This of course, was a very bad sign. It means that someone had just been murdered, committed suicide, or there was a homicide. Based on the location, I would guess that this is not an uncommon occurrence. I continued on for my tour regardless since I was already there.

The staff member who gave the tour was very nice but I did not like what I saw. First of all, the buildings are a complete maze and also very dangerous. The lighting was inadequate and I did not feel safe walking through there. The unit that I saw on my tour looked fine based on what I saw...in the dark. I couldn't really inspect everything adequately because there was no electricity to the apartment at the time. However, when I looked out the window, there was a wire fence and a community with plywood roofs.

After the tour of the apartment, I was shown to the parking garage. After that, we walked around the complex. Based on what I saw, the residents of the building are not really my idea of ideal neighbors. There were people blasting loud music and drinking during the day.

I found the listing for Paradise Gardens through Craigslist. They advertise on there frequently. The same listing for the same unit was up and repeatedly posted for about 3 months before I went in for a viewing. There's a reason for that. It sounds like a great value but when you got here, you will see why nobody wants to rent here.

When I left the complex, I also witnessed a fight breaking out between two groups of ------- American men. They appeared to be in gangs. This was outside of a liquor store that was near the apartment complex.

Stay FAR FAR away. Renters beware.

no management walking the buildings anymore being eyes and ears to what's going on. there's been some graffiti on a banister (small but would stop me if I was looking to rent) for weeks now. would have been painted over immediately in the "old days." and so much more. too bad they've let the place run down so much.
