I lived here for 5 months and every day I wanted to move. When we visited during the day it seemed nice (though we did notice a few too many people just hanging out) and we really liked that we could have a townhome-style apartment. The rent wasn't bad and there was lots of closet space. But at night...watch out. Our apartment was at the intersection of two major roads in the complex and people would congregate just feet outside our living room and be very loud for most of the evening. We had to call the security office on several occasions because though we were told that the security officers would break up loitering, it never happened unless we called. Because of this we had a threatening racial slur written (in the dust) on our car. When two of our friens moved in, they had their tires slashed that night (along with the tires of everyone else in three buildings) and just a month after we moved in someone was shot right outside our window (by the police). We really liked the people who lived in the apartments next to us, but we didn't like the people who constantly hung around. About the maintenance, we eventually got someone in to fix our dishwasher when we complained nearly every day. Same with the oven. We got a new one of both but that was after several attempts to fix them both.

i lived in southwood at the same time, and the kid that got shot had just robbed a store. he was running from the police. in my opinion that little bastard got what he deserved, and he was shot in the leg. big deal....
