This is the only way that I can describe this building. I have lived here for over 5 years now. It used to be a really cool building with a mix of ---/straight/senior tenants. But just recently things have changed.The building has been purchased three times in the past five years. Whoever bought it came in and covered up the river rock around the pool and painted it whatever color it is and tried to modernize it. When long term tenants move out, the management company comes in, rips out the countertops, installs a few mod cons and double the rent and because its Hollywood, some fool is willing to pay it. The new tenants that pay the high rents are not at all friendly, but most of the long term tenants are. We say hi to one another and help each other out when we can. Eva the property manager and her husband (nobody ever calls him by his name hes just Eva's husband) aren't the best managers but they are surprisingly nice and understanding at times. The units are built solid and noise travels between floors. You will rarely hear your next door neighbor but you know exactly what is going on above you. The building is pretty old so when there is a plumbing problem it usually affects the whole building. So having the water shut off while youre away at work is not uncommon. The pool is heated but there is a strange problem in that the Health Department came by and shut it down once and from time to time it will close and you can't go in it for four days. There was once a working Meth lab in one of the first floor units but luckily the feds came by and took care of all of that before the idiot blew us up. Ironically he was able to get away with living here for a few months after the bust. The older tenants are nosy and you had best befriend them or they will be on you like white on rice. They stay up all night and see everything. Well thats about enough I guess.
