This place may look nice from the recent remodeling but looks are deceiving. Especially the looks of the owner, Kameron.

Kameron gives you this story about how he will never sell his buildings and he is all about customer service. This is a complete lie. I suspect that if the right deal came along he would definitely sell. He cares nothing for his tenants.

He claimed that the rent included all utilities, but when it came to lease time it only included water. He said the apartment was completely renovated, but the bathrooms had problems and the walls were not painted. None of wires for phone service was operational, he claimed he was not responsible for that so we had to pay the phone company to come out and basically re-wire the apartment. He claims he will fix things but he never does. Also, the place is infested with termites. He isn't doing much about that either.

Kameron is a complete liar. I can not wait until my lease is up so I can get the hell out of here. He charges 2 1/2 months for a security deposit and I bet I will have to get a lawyer to get it back. He is the worst example of a landlord/owner I have ever seen. I have a good mind to report him as a slumlord to the State Board.

The neighbors are slightly better. The ones that share the complex are basically young college types. The most I know of them is that they all seems to have large aggressive dogs that bark and jump at strangers who pass by. (I was told no pets were allowed, another Kameron lie). They also seem to spend a great deal of time on their patios smoking. It happens so often that I can smell the smoke in my living room. They leave their trash on the steps and in common area. There is only one washer/dryer unit. It is located outside and if you don't get your laundry out quick enough someone will take it out and leave it wet on the top of the dirty machine exposed to the outside elements.

Then their are the neighbors who live across the fence. They are a loud bunch who never seem to close their doors. They have large parties at least twice a month that can go as long as 5AM the next morning.

The parking situation is a joke. More of that stupid LA tandem parking. Since there is no guest parking, a neighbor may allow one of their guest to park in your space if you are not using it. Of course, they never ask and they don't leave notes when they do this.

6040 Barton, is low-class living at it's best. Don't be fooled by the cheap remodeling or Kameron's British accent. It's trash.
