this is my first year living in the apartments and it was not too bad. the maintenance people are usually helpful when you have a minor problem like a leak or a clogged faucet, but when it comes to major problems they are usually very slow. manager here is a total cow because she will use any excuse to have your car towed if you are not parked in your assigned space. carpets are worn and ugly, but that can be fixed with some steam vacuuming. rent is reasonable considering it is right across the street from campus and so close to all the shops and eateries (in-n-out is across teh street). not too bad of a place overall, but my roomate and i are moving out because we wanted better amenities (like a pool and gym or something) that you can get for the same price range elsewhere.

747 Gayley was the worst place to live!!! I lived for there for a year and thought it was okay to live there a second in a different apt. There was a really bad rain season and some idiot put the wrong waterproof sealant on the exterior of the building. So when it rained really hard, our balcony and living room became and giant pool to where our feet would soak in 2 inches of water. They were very slow to fix this problem and left us with a week of now place to live. And in the end despite how clean we were, they tried to cover their mistake and charge us and all the other apts on the one side of the building for damages that none of us did. It was a bill well over $3,000. We ended up having to go to small claims court over this and when we won, they loser owner never sent us the check. So unless you want a battle to fight, and have a chance of wasting and losing your money, DO NOT LIVE in 747 Gayley!!!

747 GAYLEY is the $hittiest place I have ever lived. The manager here is not only negligent, and irresponsible but non-responsive and a complete moron. They are SO HARD to get a hold of, the maitenence took over A MONTH and a HALF TO RESPOND, and the apartments are complete ----. The mail area often became flooded with water, but they would try to catch it with a trashcan. THe trashcan doesn't help with the WHOLE MAIL ROOM IS FLOODED!!!

In response to above! I am one of the other student renters that ended up paying for half of the building when the water flooded the living spaces as a result of faulty sealant. THEY ARE COMPLETE FRAUDS AND SHOULD HAVE THEIR ASSES BEAT FOR NOT PAYING! HOW DARE THEY CHARGE US UNRIGHTFULLY! Whenever I walk by 747 Gayley on my way to get food, I make a point to throw trash etc at that piece of crap place, and you should too!

I lived there for a year around 2007, for the only reason decreased commute time. The perks of the place is that you can plan on going to campus by foot instead of by car. The locks on the front gate and even on some doors to residential units were malfunctioning. My roommate, being an international grad student, didn't know how to get the repair man to fix the bathroom faucet we shared, so I had to call it in. It took a while for it to get fixed. They used the cheapest shower heads, so you might want to bring your own shower head. I spend most of the academic year away from my apartment so that I can get work done. The apartment needed so much work that it was a distraction. The building survives on students who need to live close to school.
