The rent is pricey but the perks are great. A wonderful sense of community, no kids. Friendly people and every day the colorful park. Walk outside and instantly be amused by jugglers, magicians and other street entertainers. When you get hungary consider the Paraguayan restuarant or the world famous Langers. The street can be noisy but no where near as loud as Brixton London, Russian Hill SF or anywhere on the island of Manhattan. This is upscale urban living at it's best. If you want quiet, move to Torrance, this is for those who love the city.

Very suspicious review. By 'colorful' park, you must mean full of trash and illegal activity. And by wonderful sense of community you must mean people doing construction next door to you at 2am, or having parties every weekend. If you love disrespectful neighbors, unavailable management (I was once locked out for an entire night because no one at the 'emergency number' or any other number called me back) and a park with a band-shell 200 meters from your building, than this is the place for you. This is louder than any of the above mentioned places because they have concerts and carnivals every other weekend in the park. They once had a concert on the street right in front of our building, it shook the windows in our apartment. It was unbearable! Don't trust the above review! They don't know what they are talking about! Furthermore for those of you would 'love the city' I imagine you are already familiar with the area and know it doesn't have any of the perks of living downtown. That is, it lacks lots of bars, restaurants (Langers, really?? How many times can you eat a mediocre pastrami sandwich, and it closes early) and other things within walking distance. Move 4 blocks west to Koreatown, much cleaner, safer and tons of stuff to walk to.

Hmm, well this guy is interesting, but I think that this person would have a tough time wherever they went simply because they were there. Not sure if he a trustworthy reveiwer. Still, the lockout incident must have been frustrating and, apparently, overwhelming. On the other hand, when a person owns a house and get locked out, there is no number to call, so I think that many people struggle with the independence that adulthood requires. When I said sense of community, I mean that I have met many people who are more charming and fun to be with than this guy sounds. But as for me, I love this building looking out at the park through the cement lace at sunrise makes the day seem full of promise and I see the vendors and old guys when I have to hurry across the park to get to the metro. Try it out, come to the neighborhood and see if you think so too. In the end, only your reveiw matters, still if you think it isn't the place for you, skip it. Happy neighbors make a better neighborhood.

clearly this person is either being sarcastic or just living in their own world to escape the horrors of macarthur park. Magicians? juggling street performers? Are you kidding me? If you are talking about the carnival that comes into town EVERY OTHER WEEK leaving filth and crime in its wake then yea i"m sure that you could find some "street performers" but why would anyone want that right in front of there house? They once closed down our street for a carnival that had NO permits and set up a petting zoo right in front of the entrance to our garage and they wouldn't let us in. This post has to be by someone in management. Read my review on this building and the ones that give the building 1 star those are the real reviews.
