i have been living here for over 5 years and i really enjoy it. it's not for everyone, if you want a white picket fence in the suburbs with 2-1/2 kids, this is definitely not the place for you. this is urban living at its best, huge open space, raw concrete floors and super high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and amazing views. sure, it can be a bit noisy sometimes, but you are living in a city, so it is understandable.
the park is really great, in the morning you see little old Korean ladies doing their Tai Chi and morning walk, during the day and evening families dominate the place. and the lake is the perfect distance to take your dog for a walk.
as to location it has been perfect for me, close to downtown, Silverlake, Echo Park, Pasadena, and close-ish to the west side.
the other tenants are mostly photographers, architects (at least 3 pretty important firms), designers, and other serious creative professionals.
and the building staff is really nice, professional, and always fix problems right away.
