You pay for the unit, not the service

The service at Archstone was dismal... and that's putting it nicely. It had pretty much just opened for rental when I moved in, so there were a couple of incentives: Free first month and $50 security deposit. BUT, they hadn't hooked up half of the phone lines yet, and it took 3 weeks to get them to do a 5 minute fix. After that, during the middle of summer, I realized that the AC didn't work... it took them a week to come (the 24-hour service thing is bull), and the worker's left a disgusting mess in my bathroom (don't ask). That's just in the first month. I was paying for an extra parking space, and then they gave it to someone else by mistake and had my car booted, which took another 3 hours to resolve. Even after I showed proof that I was paying for that space and that it was their mistake, the manager was like "Well, you weren't on the records, so you shouldn't have been parking there." They are seriously overrated. The only thing nice about this place was the individual W/D in your unit.
