The Asbury was built in the mid-twenties when MacArthur Park was a rich person's area and is still one of the most beautiful buildings in Los Angeles, you can see that for yourself with the internet search. On the upper stories the views are very very beautiful and even on lower flooors apartments have hardwood floors high ceilings big closets and other perks you just never see in modern apartment buildings.

But you are living in MacArthur Park. It is a notorious area here in LA. Really its not so bad if you just use commmon sense but everyone around looks poor and tired from working three jobs, three is garbage on the streets and you see rats in the park but not in the building. So many people just use the building as a car base. They dont ever walk around. They ignore the community and just drive.

Parking is very difficult. The rates for parking as expensive for the outside lot and inside garage and street parking I can find it but you have to wake up early to move the car and sometimes have to walk a good distance.

They have new management who want to fix up everything. They put in new plumbing new eleavotrs and painted the whole outside of the building. So you can really trust the water coming out of the facuet. But they evicted some people to make room for some low income tenants several years ago. I dont know if they want to evict other tenants nobody is complaining but they did evict these people several years ago who hadnt done anything, they the managers just wanted to make room for more low income tenants so they could get govbernment money. Some tenants were very unhappy then but since then its been fine.

They have good people working maintenance. The manager and workers are okay and frinedly if something breaks they will fix it.

Some tenants make noise and leave garbage in the hall which is gross. Some even throw is out the window which is even more gross.

But you have to see the building. You see you either want to live here or you dont and if you do you take the disadvantages. Look it up on the internet and compare it to where you live now. It makes other places look totally pathetic. But if you live here you have to put up with the neighborhood parking some tenants and will they evict anyone else.

The new management are better than the last Three disasters. You get a lot of space for very low rent.If you don't like immigrants, stay away.If you're from the suburbs and you want a quiet peaceful neighborhood, stay away.If you lived in Silverlake or Echo Park before they got gentrified you'll be just fine. They don't build apartments like this anymore. Basically, if you're a fussy wimp ,Don't come here.
