Can't wait to move....

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2008
As a previous reviewer noted, there are several problems with the Barclay including the management. Not only is the overall upkeep of the interior of the units DISMAL, but the manager is generally rude and dismissive. The exterior and lobby tend to look beautiful, but if you have a lower level or ground floor apartment (as I do) better not expect anything pretty, OR FUNCTIONAL. THe only reason my significant other and I have been at this address for 3 years is because it is very cheap compared to other units in the area, and it is very close to my school.
I listed parking as a '1 star' because it is an additional $95 per month on top of the $985 paid for rent. The parking you are paying for is at a public parking structure nearby, which is ALSO poorly maintained, AND the contract you sign for said structure actually sates (since it is a structure also utilized by the many professional buildings and bars/nightclubs nearby) that you are not to park in the the structure between the hours of 9am and 6pm. To further complicate the matter, parking in the structure is NOT assigned, but a "free for all" which means often you are left with LITERALLY no where to park at certain times of the day.
Utilities are included, which is about the only positive thing I can say.
Also, I said "don't know the pet policy" because although there is a clause in the lease stating the various pet deposits, when I approached my landlord to pay a deposit prior to getting a cat, she stated that my building was a "no cat" building. When I asked why no cats (but dogs) she said something to the effect that people might have allergies. This is just ONE example of the "whatever I feel like applying to you" rules and treatment received from the landlord.
Also, the noise from the street is awful. This really doesn't have anything to do with the management, but is just a fact of the location. There is a popular bar about a block away which leads to a lot of drunken singing and shouting as patrons find there way to bus stops or cars parked nearby. There is also filming which shuts down the entire block at least once a month.
