The Good: Location, close to everything and somewhat quiet (unless you live on the freeway side). Pretty safe (at least for now). park across the street with tennis, basketball, etc.
The Bad: Not enough closet space; pool is always dirty and not heathed; questionable tenants over the past few months moving in and using the party room; plumbing was an issue, but i think it may have been resolved.
The Ugly: PAULA (Onsite manager); Extremely RUDEEEEEEE!!!!! No one likes her. get her the HE** out of here!!!!!!!! Every other day, they leave "RUDE, gramatically incorrect letters on every door".

Please note that the previous "The Good, The Bad and THE UGLY!!!!" review is describing the "Casa De Vida" apartment complex on Sawtelle, NOT the Leasing Office at 3230 Overland Avenue, coincidentally also named "Casa De Vida"...the manager's name at Overland Casa De Vida is Joanna, NOT Paula...there has never been anyone named Paula as Manager here at Overland Casa De Vida. Also, our amenities do not include tennis courts and we are not across the street from a park. We are located on Overland Avenue, between Palms and National Blvd. It would be greatly appreciated if "Anonymous", posted on 6/9/07 would correct his posting, or at least make sure to post their review on the correct address. It seems unfair to Overland Casa De Vida management to have negative postings on their otherwise positive review board.

The REAL Casa De Vida on 3230 Overland is not as the prevous anonymous user described. The REAL Casa De Vida is a Moss and Company property which is professionally run. Honestly, its probably the best property I've stayed at so far. I've lived in a lot of places in the area as a UCLA alumni and USC grad student. Its pretty quite, clean, and whenever theres a problem Oscar takes care of it really fast. He's also a nice guy too. The manager is Joanna, very pleasant and upbeat, and one of the reasons I wanted to rent the apartment.

I used to live at the Casa de Vida apartments, located on Sawtelle Blvd. years ago (mid to late '80's). I loved it. It was close to the freeway and close to the law firm where I worked (Westwood Village). It was quiet and well maintained. I just cannot get over the rental increase since then! I think I paid somewhere around the $600-$750.00 range back then and while I realize that was a long time ago -- wow. HUGE increase. But overall, I would definitely give tis complex a great rating.
