Not bad but got ripped off when I moved out

The office staff was very helpful when I moved in as I came over from Europe, no credit rating in the U.S. etc. etc. and they rented an apartment to me after I'd paid a double deposit.
The apartment was a studio apartment, decent sized with a tiny balcony. It was in good condition when I moved in and I had some minor problems like leaking dishwasher when I lived there. Maintenance took care of problems reasonably promptly and they usually solved the problem on the first visit.
The grounds were very nice and the pool area is lovely!
The surrounding area wasn't particularly nice at the time but not particularly bad either. You'd happily walk to the nearby McDonald's or Jack in the Box after dark without being terrified.
Parking was never a problem for me and I was even allowed to use an extra parking space for free. However, the assistant manager got transfered somewhere else and I felt that the quality went down after she left.
I had to leave before my lease was out but didn't have to pay the extra two months rent although they kept "a minimal cleaning fee" which was around $300 I think although the place was spot less.
Overall, it was a nice enough place and it's conveniently located as you can reach LAX, the beach and Century City in less than 15 minutes (not in rush hour traffic though).
