I can not say enough negative things about my experience living at the Cherokee Apartments.



The apartments are small, with poorly designed floorplans. There are absolutely NO AMENITIES, inadequate washers/dryers and maintenance requests are seldom taken care of. When I moved in, my apartment had not been cleaned and was in need of many repairs, including a leaky ceiling.



In a two year period, there were five different managers, some lasted only a few weeks. The owner is a complete slumlord, who often had altercations with the tenants. He told one of my neighbors (who was a very kind elderly lady) to go live in a retirement home, when she complained about the UNGODLY screaming and yelling from a couple across the courtyard who fought almost nightly until 5:00-6:00am.



Upon moving out, I made sure to leave the unit SPOTLESS. It was cleaned, painted, vacuumed - ready to rent...yet, they did not return a cent of my $1000 deposit.



I could go on, but the message is clear -BEWARE of the Cherokee Apartments. There are plenty of other buildings in the neighborhood (which is actually safe and relatively quiet).
