The Commodore is a handy, utilitarian place. There are eleven floors with uniform postage-stamp studio apartments. The walls seem to be thicker than usual. The kitchen is a built-in double hotplate with a motel-type refrigerator. A/C and heating is included in the rent, as is water and electricity. Cable is available. Satellite is planned. A commercial laundry in the basement is accessible via the elevators. Security in the building is superior overall. Maintenance staff (two people) is very good. Parking is available in a nearby lot for an additional fee, otherwise its on the street. Construction is ongoing around the Commodore and should be finished by fall 2003.
Management of the Commodore has improved greatly in recent months, and building improvements have been made and more are planned. The Commodore was designed for singles without children and that is mainly what youll find, young and old. Vacancy rate has been low, but the turnover is aways high although there are some long-term residents as well.
