I got out of there as soon as I could. I broke the lease claiming that the apartment was UNLIVABLE! I had doctor's notes, pictures, and video of how horrible this place was. I developed breathing problems from the roach infestation that goes unfixed probably to this date. Roaches emit a musk that can be very harmful. Also, they carry disease and are generally unpleasant to have in your home. Inside every apartment, expect hundreds of tiny ones and outside expect hundreds of big suckers. The apartment will not stay clean, like someone else said. It was not clean when I moved in and I scrubbed and scrubbed to no avail. The landlord sucks big time. He's a nice guy, but he's very lazy and after many calls he'll merely cover your problems with Band-Aids. There's no reason why anyone should live here. If you think that you have to settle for something like this just because you're poor and desperate, you're wrong! I'm a low-income student with a part-time job, and I moved from this craphole to a beautiful bug-free apartment. You can, too! If you're thinking about moving into the Du Barry, DON'T! If you live there already, MOVE!
