Ok, I've been renting here almost a year and we've already had 4 managers. The building was bought by a new management company. Previous to the new management, I was dealing with brown water, a water leak in my apt, which soaked half my carpeted floor and mildew formed on the baseboards and closets, FLYING termites on my balcony and in the kitchen cabinets, noise from one of the neighbors who had at least 4 adult people living in a 1 bedroom, parties going on until 5am, cheap carpeting and padding installed so you can hear every step your upstairs neighbor takes, dog feces on the side walkway from irresponsible owners not cleaning up, dog feces in the hallways from owners not having their dog on a leash, dog feces in the parking lot from owners not having their dogs on a leash and playing catch with their dogs, naked homeless men washing themselves in the pool, homeless men sleeping in the front lobby couch and in the garage on discarded furniture, rusty brown water dripping on cars and ruining paint in the parking lot, renters letting friends park in the parking lot in your assigned parking, renters leaving their clothes in the wash to let them mildew, and lastly the building being sold with no warning of new management until the day it happens.
Under new management I'm still dealing with brown water, termites, noise (lovely neighbors in the courtyard screaming drunken songs with guitars on the balcony all hours of the night on weeknights and weekends), dogs feces- check, leaky pipes-check, homeless man-check, etc. And now it's been brought to light by a former maintenance that there is an asbestos problem here in the walls and the building needs a major INTERIOR overhaul to replace it. It sounds like a severe violation if it doesn't get fixed properly, and oh yes, we don't even have secure locks on the doors! But they did slap on a new coat of paint in the lobby and added 2 new chairs for unsuspecting renters such as you who may be thinking of renting here. Don't do it. And if you meet the manager, ask them about all the problems I just brought up and ask them when they will fix at least the brown water, the termites and the asbestos before you move in. Seems like it's more important for your health versus a new coat of paint and crown molding, which fell off a few months ago. Sounds safe huh'
