I recently moved out of Franklin plaza apartments exactly 2 weeks after i signed a year lease. Trust me and every single review you read about this place!!! You certainly do not want to move in here... This is my story,

I wanted to move into Franklin Plaza because the building was so cute and appealing from the outside, and from the pictures i seen looked nice and affordable. The only problem there was that pictures do lie, and thats exactly what this company did to us. The day we moved in franklin plaza it was the first time we seen the unit (never get an apartment over photos), we didn't get to look too much in detail to find anything wrong with the apartment because they were rushing us to sign the lease and leave our money orders so they could leave "early for the day". we did just that. We started to unpack and i smelt what seemed to be a VERY STRONG ODOR of cat urin. I knew we needed to talk to this apartment manager about this, then i started to notice the apartment was not cleaned at all!!! it was filthy! there were nails from the carpet on the floor that went through our shoes, lights were not working, the sliding glass door to the outside patio was not even on the track, the whole door was sitting on the living room floor, and we couldn't put it on ourselves. and this was a Saturday when we moved in and nobody answered the emergency line. they were closed till Tuesday morning. They did not connect our door, it was off the track for 3 days till we could get them to come and fix it. We had to have the heater on in the house and with that strong smell it was not pleasant, also the fireplace wasn't working either. a few days pass, I began feeling sick, i am still unpacking and notice ticks and flea bites on my feet and legs and actually find some in the carpet. more days pass as im still cleaning this apartment because they did not have it ready for us im noticing that urin smell is getting stronger i happen to look under the bathroom sink and the border of the lenolium and cabinets there is MOLD, and alot of it. They painted over the mold under the bathroom sink so we couldn't see it. that is probably why they were airing out the apartment and didn't put on the sliding glass door, they were hoping we wouldn't notice. Then i notice the bathroom floor is wet,the entire bathroom has mold... i found mold behind the toilet bowl as i was cleaning up that water. the water was coming from the wall, i moved the border lining on the bottom of the bathroom floor by the shower, the whole wall was soaking wet from the inside, as i moved it, thats where the mold was from, and bugs were falling as i tore this piece off. i was furious at this point and disgusted!!!

That same night i heard a loud noise, and all of a sudden the water from the sink was backing up (and i wasnt using the water or had food in the disposal) there was paper, food, soap bubbles and brown water coming up... it overflowed onto the kitchen floor, and as it kept going i screamed for my friend to help me, we knocked out the kitchen screen and started tossing out cups full of all this disgusting ---- and poured it over the balcony. we called the "Anytime emergency line" and nobody answered or even called back. also the dishwasher was not bolted to the top and when i opened it, it fell out and slammed onto my foot. Also someone finally came after almost a week and nailed it to the top of the counter... i washed 1 load of dishes and when they were done they were dirtier then when they were put in. At this point i was fed up! We complained and complained, about the bugs every time we complained about it they told us "the exterminators will be there tomorrow" and yes every single day they said the same thing! TOMORROW! My throat was soar and i was throwing up i was itchy from the flea bites that i didn't notice i had a HUGE rash on my stomach that went around to the side of my back. i went to my doctor and i was told it was a common reaction to mold! BASTARDS! i went back home and the office was closed again so i couldn't tell them that im sick and its because of the mold ive been telling them about and they never fixed. The bathroom ceiling above the shower had water dripping and the ceiling is drooping down like a huge bubble about 2 by 4 feet wide and is almost about to collapse... the entire bathroom floor was wet again and it soaked the carpet and some of the room. we called the emergency line again and the maintenance guy came by and by that time the water stopped dripping and i showed him the water and mold and he was fighting with me saying it is not mold, they finally got a mold inspector to come out and we were right the guy said the Mold has been here for a long time and is under the carpet, rotting the wood, behind the bathroom wall and the water leak is coming from a leak 2 floors above us. Also, we had only 1 parking spot and someone would always be parked there, we complained and they said theres nothing they could do cuz a tow truck cant fit in there. ANNOYING!!! Dog pee and feces were always in the stairway, and people would throw trash anywhere...Within that week we came to an agreement with Promethus company that we could break our lease with no penalty and we would NOT sue them for the Black Mold, and they would give us every penny back. our first months rent and deposit.

As you can see this all these reviews should make you see the truth in the facts so don't be fooled... there are pleanty apartments out there.. and i still wouldn't rent that at Franklin Plaza even for $100 a month!!!
ALL HONESTLY, THE BUILDING SHOULD BE CONDEMMED WITH ALL THE ISSUES IT HAS!!! THERES A REASON WHY EVERY COMPANY THAT BUYS THE BUILDING, WILL TURN AROUND AND SELL IT IMMEDIATELY..

SIMPLE DO THE MATH, LOOK AT ALL THE RECOMMENDED "NO" OVER THE RECOMMENDED "YES"..

(with all of the above being said.. I spoke to Corporate Promethus and got all this resolved with the regional manager on getting all my $$$ back and breaking my lease with out penalty.. So thank you for being considerate to our situation.. Still doesn't change the fact of all the problems this building has, but i would suggest if you are stuck in a lease, and are having issues, go above building managers, and talk to someone in corporate.. There is laws that protect us as tenants.)

***YES THIS IS A NOVEL AS A REVIEW.. BUT I REALLY WOULD HATE FOR SOMEONE TO GO THROUGH THE ISSUES & STRESS I WENT THROUGH WHILE LIVING HERE, AND HAVING TO MOVE TWICE WITH IN A 2 WEEK PERIOD.. SO IT'S WORTH EVERY EFFORT OF GIVING DETAILS OF MY EXPERIENCE.. IF I COULD SAVE SOMEONE THE HEADACHE AND STRESS ! ! ! ! ! !

My guess is the first floor. I have been here for 2 years, and there is a MEGA issue with a unit there. It was vacant for 2 years BEFORE I even moved here due to the rust/mold/door issues. It has been liek that for 4 year now!!!! I am outta here!!

my apartment # was 108.. Yes it was the 1st floor.. I hope they are fixing that unit, cause if they didn't do any repairs, i feel so bad for the next tenant to rent that unit..

First floor does have problems. There's been 3 different people moving in and out of #123 in the past year. I hear there's a lot of problems in that unit too.
