Great Location; Unprofessional Management

I have lived here for 10 years. I stay because of the central location (3 mins to 10FWY, 15 minutes to Santa Monica, 12 to Downtown- of course w/o traffic!) and walking distance to grocery stores, cleaners and the track & pool across the street & my low rent. Basically, my neighbors are like minded people, there are the annoyances - litter, bad ass kids from Dorsey & yes a few car breakins (4 in 10 yrs) - 1 drive by shooting. No pests in my place (ok a mouse once - but no roaches). The squirrels, rats, ferral cats and possums are all outdoors thank God! I have seen a lot of people come and go. If you can get over the unprofessional management & sloppy maintainence, you'll be ok. When I move, I'll buy a home or condo. Remember - If good folks move in, the community will change!

I agree with your assessment. The management since Lucy came on board as manager has greatly improved. The previous manager behaved like she was mentally ill to me. I would report a maintenance problem and she would try to accuse me of causing the problem. I'd never had such treatment in my life! There were other things that this woman did where she should have been brought up on charges. I'm so glad she is gone. I have seen possums, squirrels but haven't seen those fat rats in several years. I used to see them all the time. They do have some feral cats. They leave their pawprints on my car all the time but I do like the 24 hour security. If a neighbor does do something annoying or something is wrong you call and let them handle it, which is very good. Management is by no means perfect. When I first moved here you could have one improvement per year like a new sink, a steel outside door, new linoleum. All that ended but the rent keeps going up anyway. The surrounding area is not that great but inside you are fairly safe and the outside maintenance is good.
