Don't Rent Here!

Don't be mislead by the word "Luxury" that looms on their complex signs and advertisement. It is far from luxury! Surrounding the complex, you will see shady looking people standing on darkened street corners. Within the complex, you will have to deal with rude college kids who have no consideration for others and the worse management staff on planet Earth.

The complex claims to be a safe and gated community. However, most of the time the gates or garage doors are broken and open for anyone to enter in. The security guards in the front normally hang out in their "hut" and don't come out unless to sign someone in. If this place was so secure, my apartment wouldn't have been broken into. I lost all my valuables and sentimental baseball cards that can never be replaced. Also, someone attempted to steal my motorcycle. Good thing I had a wheel lock on it, so they couldn't budge it. After these few incidents, I moved out!

That leads me to another thing I should mention. You can definitely say good-bye to your security deposit. They will try everything it takes to take the deposit and charge you extra for things that the complex should be responsible for. They define normal wear and tear as 3 years. So if there is a minor mark on the wall, they'll charge you for it. Also, they will charge you for them cleaning the blinds and shampooing the carpets. Things that a landlord should normally do before renting out the space again. They don't want to expend any of their dollars. Just yours!

Also, here is a helpful tip. For those who are moving out, they won't let you know the paint color. They (------ and staff) will give you the run around and BS stories so that they can charge you for repainting the place. Luckily, I found out this information on my own and wanted to share! The paint color is: Pearl White. Purchase this paint at Dunn Edwards on La Cieniega going towards Fairfax. They use Pearl White (flat) on all their walls. For kitchen, bathroom, and doors, they use the same color but in semi-gloss.

I would never want anyone to go through what I went through. Please look at other options. You can find better for the amount they're charging at the Heights.
