I moved in about 3 months ago and I've been loving it ever since. Shops and restaurants are just outside the door, grounds are new and kept up very well. The lobby and media center are ultra cool. The best thing about the place is the staff- whenever I had an issue they were very responsive and genuinely caring, and very sharp. Some people complained about the lack of a grocery store-i had to drive 4 miles to the Vons and Ralph's when i first moved in- but now there's a new Ralph's just a mile or 2 away. And there has always been the local Japanese grocery stores literally on the same block. The worst part about the place is parking, there is no real place for guests to park. I read some of the comments about lack of resident parking too. To be fair though, I think most of the people who complained are the ones who knew from the start how many spaces they were promised but then moved in anyway trying to sneak in extra cars. They tell you up front the number of spots you get so there shouldn't really be any surprises. And I don't think they really tow cars here. My theory is that they use that as a deterrent to prevent people from parking in your spot. But parking is an issue though, just keep in mind that you'll only get one space for a one bedroom. I'm pretty sure that they do care and are working on it though. When I first moved in, none of the garages around here were even offering monthly passes becuase they make more money by charging by the hourly. But now there some sort of deal they made, and one or two garages are now at least offering passes for Hikari residents. It hasn't happened yet, but they even said that one garage will even operate for 24 hours as a result of some arrangement made specifically becuase Hikari worked something out. That would be cool if it happens becuase then I don't have to keep my 2nd car at work anymore. Anyway, aside from the parking issues, I can't say enough about how pleased I am so far.

That does seem like an inconvenience that you have to leave your other car at work.
