I have to agree with the previous reviewer about all the problems with the place. The complex IS in a great location but is extremely poorly maintained. At over $1700/month for one bedroom one would expect that at the very least they would replace horrible and dirty light fixtures that have been there for the last 30 years. When we moved in, the blinds where dirty and we even were told by our neighbors that there was trash going bad when they moved into their place. Our bathroom sink was also over 20 years old, the backup drain was clogged and collected mold and rusted the whole thing. The toilet (probably also over 20 yeas old) is not low flow by design but some genius made it "low flow" by having the tank fill to only the half of it's full capacity which means that it doesn't flush properly and clogs all the time if you don't keep flushing it as you do your business.
Some of the apartments face a small courtyard that amplifies any sound so if you have a neighbor talking on the phone in any of the rooms with windows facing the courtyard, you'll be able to participate in the conversation without missing a word which makes sleeping next to impossible.
There are laundry facilities on each floor but all but the manager's floor is barely maintained and I've seen people going up to the manager's floor to use the washer and drier there since others don't do a proper job. Same goes for the dishwasher that leaves smears on the dishes so you almost have to wash the dishes properly before putting them in...
If you need anything repaired in your place, be prepared for a duct tape and a toothpick. The manager's husband who does most of the repairs seems to think that as long as it looks like the thing is in one piece, it's fine and will try to convince you that you don't know how to use whatever you are complaining about.
Privacy is another issue. According to the lease the manager needs to inform you before entering the place but you may end up coming out of the shower and finding manager or her husband in your apartment.
The complex is located on a very noisy corner. Being close to the hospital and the W hotel means that you'll have helicopters coming and going 24/7, buses speeding around the corner with screeching brakes and cars honking constantly. The intersection is also a death trap with accidents happening at least every month. The complex lists a pool as one of the amenities but first of all it's a challenge to find the entrance to it, the pool is covered so if you are planning on getting a bit of the sun, you are out if luck. And the one time that I went there it looked dirty and was cold (although it's supposed to be heated). Hallways are terrible and stink. The dirty old carpets don't ever get cleaned (I've seen cleaning people "clean" it and the way they were cleaning only gets the carpet dirtier) and are full of mold. Elevator brakes down on regular bases at least once a month for at least 3-4 days, sometimes a week. People get stuck there too and sometimes for a while.
