I bought in during the very first offering, snagged the middle center unit overlooking San Pedro. Watched the sun's effects on the homeless, especially the two Vietnamese girls as they go through thier rigid routine, how much they aged.
I like to walk at night, ride my mountain bike during the day, mingle with the locals, talk to the small shop owners. Never been hassled, only once, if you can call it a hassle. I was toting my grocery cart (an absolute necessity) behind LTL on Crocker street. A homeless guy said "Gimme your cart." I gave him my meanest stink eye as I walked by. He didn't persue it.
Our parking should not be taken for granted. Other lofts have a separate lot, uncovered, requiring an additional monthly fee, with all the inconveniences of walking to the lot, getting into a hot car, seeing the sun's effects on your AMG"s paint job. I got an econobox, but to you Mercedes and Bimmer owners count your blessings.
Noise is not a factor, as my bedroom and bathroom is next to a hallway. Nothing worse than hearing a neighbor's bedroom and bathroom activities. Fortunately, my neighbors are very courteous.
Am I the only hourly, non managerial/non-professional homeowner' Just curious.
Because of my hours, I have not attended a single homeowners meeting. Word on the street is LTL might be going through some legal litigation. If so, what is the subject'
There should be no distinction between owner and renter. If the first question that you ask me is whether I own or rent, it reveals your priorities, and I would not want to become close to you. But if your idea of a good time is watching the sun set on the downtown skyline while nursing a cold one, then you can come over anytime. Well, almost anytime.

I live in the very same spot - right smack in the middle of the place overlooking San Pedro.
I haven't noticed the same homeless folks, though, and I have been a tiny bit hassled.
Beneath my window is a new lot of drug-dealing, gal-beating drug pushers on whom I have called the cops a few times.
Then there was the shoot-out and the dead guy.
Then last night another dead guy.
I too love the walks and the sunsets, but I won't romanticize it. It's definitely in the heart of squalor.
