A Glorified Dorm, DO NOT LIVE HERE!

Reasons the Madrid sucked:

1. Too expensive! I had a two bedroom that was almost $1600, not including utilities!
2. Noisy neighbors. The walls in the apartments are super thin, so you can hear your neighbors arguing or talking about the meaning of life at 3:30 in the morning. Since a lot of students from nearby Loyola Marymount university live there, you'll hear them stumble in drunk or talking about what they plan on doing with their lives. But there are also a lot of adults who should know when to shut their traps. UGH!
3. Bad management. Smiling but inefficient staff. I can think of at least TEN times where I or my roommates called the office to get someone to come in and fix something or that something just wasn't right; we were met with a smile but it would take days (usually a week!) for our problem to be addressed.
4. Parking spaces. We were assigned one space which is the norm. Our car was regular-sized but was barely able to fit into the space due to the monster-sized SUV or truck that was always next to us. They should designate a section of the garage for striclty SUV and large cars only because having to manuever your car everyday into an extra small space was ridiculous.
5. The pool and jacuzzi. Usually overpopulated with screaming children or stupid frat boys working on their tan. Plus the morning after a long weekend, there is generally a disgusting film floating in the jacuzzi. I prefer not to even think about where it came from.

Overall, living there was an unpleasant experience because I counted the months until my lease ran out. The only reason I said yes to it was because I was desperate and in need of a place to live before school started. When I look back on the experience I sincerely wish that I had waited and found someplace else to live. Here's hoping they improve all this but I'm not holding my breath. They make way too much money off of people!
