Just as they did to the other tenant, we recently got a nicely taped notice stuck to our door indicating that our rent was to increase by $400 just like that. The parking's lot's pretty empty these days and a lot of my neighbors I no longer see around the lobby or patio/pool area, so my best guess is they've all moved out between last month and this month because of the ungodly rate increases Decron has enforced. Yes, the manager lady is a very nice and lovely person but unfortunately, she doesn't call the shots, Decron Properties Management does. And from the looks of it, if they intended to get as many tenants out of the building as fast as possible, well their tactics have been very effective. We're contemplating moving out too. If they wanted to keep us (and all the other long-time resident tenants here), they wouldn't slap such crazy rate increases on us. I am sure they're trying to make the most money possible, but it could backfire on them at the rate tenants are leaving and looking for residence elsewhere. And quite frankly, although the building is nice, the shady people and prostitutes are still alive and kicking down the street, at the corner bus stop and liquor store. I can't imagine paying $1400-1600 for a 1-bedroom 1-bath apartment with that kind of "crowd" lurking outside the door as soon as I step out the lobby. It's your call but don't say we didn't warn you: that rate increase notice will creep up on you each year without fail, and it won't be cheap!
