I have lived at the Medici for a year now. Please avoid this place at all costs. Sure, it looks nice front the outside, but do not be fooled by the facade that is the Medici. Here is a summary of reasons why you should absolutely not live here.

1. Overpriced. I paid $1665/month to live in a one bedroom apartment over the trash compactor machine that WAS ALWAYS ON! The walls are super thin, so you can hear everything (even people listening to "adult" movies, gross!).

2. BAD Management. When problems arise they do not help. EX: There were a ton of people by the pool drinking handles of hard alcohol at 3 PM, while smoking pot, I alerted this to management (because they were really LOUD) and they did not do ANYTHING.

3. BAD "security" staff. The guys behind the desks do not do ANYTHING. They have been rude to my guests and do not address after hours noise complaints (and believe, me living here, you will have several!).

4. Children. Unless you like screaming children, then this place is not for you (especially if you live near the pool). When I first moved in it was a decent place, however it has gradually gone down hill in the year I have been there. The new tenants are ghetto and have a million kids running around. I don't understand why you would have kids at the Medici, but they are there A TON of them.

5. Cockroaches. Yes, unfortunately, I have had to deal with this problem. I lived on the ground floor and they have come through the bottom of my door.

6. Dorm atmosphere. It is basically as one manager put it "USC North." Now, I am a recent graduate of USC, but the type of students that live there is the worst possible kind: rude, spoiled, loud, and overall inconsiderate. They also have turned the Medici into a dorm for FIDM, too. PROFESSIONALS: please stay away!

7. Parking. There are about 10 guest parking spaces for hundreds of residents. RIDICULOUS!

Overall, please avoid this place. It??s not what you think from the tours. The management is really awful (they have gone through three management companies this past year) and overall it??s really not THAT nice. The gym equipment is outdated by today's standards, and the tanning beds are filthy. Overall, it??s not worth it.
