RENTER'S BEWARE!! If FPI Management is still running this place when you're looking, I'd take your money and use it wisely elsewhere. Although the property is very aesthetically appealing and "safe" because of the design, the people in it make the Medici susceptible to crime. Because it's mostly students (amateur observation from living here, don't know the exact percentages)from USC and FIDM (I believe they use this building as student housing), their are strangers coming and going from this complex ALL THE TIME, friends letting friends in and park in your parking spot, letting friends come use the pool and jacuzzi, to just come and party and barbeque. People move in and OUT all the time, so the main doors are left open for strangers to just walk in, cameras are scarce and one at the bottom of my stairwell, where the street entrance is located, the camera is pointed up at the ceiling. There's vomit in the stairwells, elevators, and hallways (thank god for the open architecture or the smell would be unbearable). Ignoring all of this, the inside of your apartment will be very nice, although, appearances are deceiving, a lot of things go wrong with the appliances, my studio used to leak water into my entryway (reported it 3 times, never got fixed...said it was the air conditioning condensation leaking, but i thought it ironic that it was always leaking when it rained and usually when i wasn't using my air conditioning, either way, they couldn't fix it.) But, the most important point is: their website claims "WE CARE"....In my opinion, they don't know the meaning of the phrase. If they did, they would know that they could not claim that they cared.

Disclaimer: I'm upset and leaving this place as soon as financially and legally possible, so take my warning for what you want.

But ask 10 people who have lived or live here at the Medici/Orsini/Visconti/Piero and 6 will probably tell you to look elsewhere. Again, amateur guess, haven't really done any statistical testing on this.

I live on the new part of the Orsini and I love it. The management there ACTUALLY CARES. I used to live at the Medici and saw all the problems your talking about, so I came to the orsini expecting to deal with the same problems but they management really really goes the extra mile to make you happy. no joke. I do agree though that the Medici is not a place to live if you don't want to stress everyday with them..

I completely disagree with the above comments. I am a student at FIDM and the medici is by far the best place that i have lived at within the last couple of years. The staff is extremely helpful when you have a problem, and they get things taken care of as soon as possible... you have to take into account that there are MANY units in the complex so if you have a problem youre not the only person theyre working on. As for break ins, i have never had a problem with that. The property is BEAUTIFUL and worth the money you spend.
