I've lived at this apartment for 7 months and I must say, this has been the worst 7 months of my life. I live down the hall from the trash chute, so everytime I walk out of my apartment, I get a great big whiff of garbage. There's a reason when you come to look at the apartments that they take you to a set-up one and not the actual apartment -- they dont want you to see how bad the apartments really are! But before this post starts to look like a hate letter, I need to address certain points:

(1) The Crime -- there has been many many many car break-ins in the past few months (over 15 within the last 6 months). Yes, I was one of the unlucky one's who had his car broken into and my ipod, sunglasses, money, etc. stolen from gated underground parking. But keep in mind, this is not an isolated incident! I know of 2 other people who's cars have been broken into (USC students nonetheless) in the past year and my friend had his apartment burglarized (an attorney who was at work when it happened). The crime is horrific and unacceptable, but a normal occurrence here at the Medici.

(2) The Management -- as has been previously stated MANY MANY MANY times, the management team is probably the worst you will ever encounter. I have lived in 4 different apartment complexes and none of them have ever had the audacity or balls to treat their residents the way the Medici does. Every problem I've ever had has been ignored or "my fault." I've been yelled at by the management for things I have no control over. It blows my mind how terrible the management really is.

(3) The Upkeep -- there really isnt a good maintenance crew. The people who do work as maintenance are good, but they are so under-staffed that they cannot be effective. It's been three weeks and I'm still waiting for them to fix a leaky ceiling that drips gross water into my bathroom. Frankly just the sight of the bucket sitting there to catch water bugs me! I didnt sign a lease to pay $2500 a month to live in a leaky ceiling sh-t hole. I cant believe this is happening.

(4) Luxury Amenities -- at the leasing office, the Medici has this really cool door lock that opens with a special key that they are supposed to be implementing soon. yeah... NO. They've had that special lock there since August of 2008. I'm willing to bet money that there will never be a lock upgrade. The Tanning Booths are fictional. I doubt the Medici even has them. The door to the tanning both is broken and cannot be opened. The same can be said about the office that they say is open to all residents. In terms of use, the tanning booth and office space are figments of your imagination.

(5) Misc Annoyances -- the walls are paper thin. There's some fidm girl who lives to the side of me that plays techno music every night. It's not loud, but I hear it like if she was 10 feet away from me. If you live near a door or the trash chute, you will hear everytime someone opens and shuts it; that is guaranteed. Also, there is no security so proceed at your own risk. If you look at this post and decide to live there anyways, I would be willing to bet you or someone you know will have his car broken into or your apt will be burglarized. Its THAT bad! And Finally, ---, the community director, is a lavishly grotesque lady. She is incompetent, rude, non-adaptable, fat, and mean. Basically, you're life will be much better off if you stay more than 100 meters from her at all times.

The Better Business Bureau rated the Medici an F. That is not by coincidence. Trust me, look at all the other posts. The only posts saying positive things about the Medici are staff. Stay away at all costs.

What you said about this place is absolutely true. Walls are very thin. I wake up to my neighbor's music in the Morning on weekends (every weekend). Security at this apt complex is a joke. There's no security at all. Might as well just live on the streets and it'll probably safer. Why does the Medici Comm Director want to talk one on one? So other people can't read about the truth online? People need to know before they sign the lease agreement. Just stay away from Medici. I'm waiting for my lease to be up to move out for GOOD! First thing that needs fixing is the management! When you have an incompetent manager, it only shows on the entire apartment complex.
