The problem with this place is nobody actually wants it to improve. The owner is happy to cash all the checks but doesn't care enough about the place to address it's issues. Residents are not the first priority here, as is evident by all the filming that takes place in the common areas and the parking is often double booked to the general public. Management does it's best to accomodate but it's clear that their hands are tied by the greedy owner. Management has lots of creative excuses for not dealing with the noise, parking, safety, security, dog poop, oh and did I mention the noise' Many of the residents here are fine, but there's just a handful who think they're entitled to make as much noise as they want at all hours. Any request to quiet down is met with anger and indignation. It's a common argument by these people that "downtown is where it's ok to be loud" as if they are of the majority. The loud drunk people aren't the majority, they're just the loudest! Unfortunately, at a place like PE Lofts, you don't have to be in the majority to get away with nearly anything. Management and security are lax and the rules are never enforced. Every now and then, they send flyers around warning people but nothing is ever done.
Residents here (usually the raucous ones) will tell you that all apartment buildings downtown are like this. That is not true. I have lived at Metro 417 and Premiere Towers and never had issues like I have here. I have friends who live in many buildings downtown who are astounded at the level of noise that comes in from neighbors windows and the rooftop garden. Don't let anyone tell you that the PE Lofts is just like any other place downtown, it's much, much worse. I moved here to try to cut costs and unfortunately, I realized you get what you pay for.
I'm sure people are going to argue my opinion on here but read what they say carefully. For some reason, the greatest defenders of this place are the ones who like to party all the time.
