Too many downsides for the expense--

I lived there for a year, and though the apartments were cozy, there are just too many downsides to the apartment complex for a recommendation.

First of all, the price is far too high for the tiny size of the apartment. I moved into a three bedroom apartment directly after leaving my one bedroom apartment in Palm Royale and paid the same price within a half-mile of this complex. It is nice to be next door to Coffee Bean, Trader Joes, etc., but ultimately it's not worth it.

Second, the noise. And mine is the opposite complaint as everyone else. Not too loud, too QUIET! I had people on my back porch speaking in regular tones during a holiday weekend, I got a noise complaint. I had a friend who smoked have a cigarette on the back porch, got a complaint. I played Guitar Hero with some friends in the middle of the day for 10 minutes and had someone sing (not yell), noise complaint. I stopped inviting people over or using my back porch because it wasn't worth the fight. I felt trapped in my own home (we had a rule of never having our TV past 10% VOLUME because we once got a noise complaint turning it up to 12%...ridiculous). I even had to shush my not-so-loud parents when I had them over for dinner to make sure they kept they didn't annoy the neighbors.

Third, the hallways are decorated terribly and always smell. I'm not sure if it's mold, but it's pretty awful. Thankfully, the smell problem does not seep into the apartments.

There are pluses. The pool, jacuzzi, and weight room are great and well maintained. It is a very safe complex with managers by the front door most of the day and security cameras. I've never had a problem with someone parking in my space. Although we did have one flooding incident caused by a defective air conditioner and constant drain back-ups, they were often fixed within a few days.

Ultimately, I would not recommend. But if you are very quiet and don't have company over, don't mind the small apartments, and like the tight security and nice neighborhood, it could be a perfect place for you.
