LIved in a tower for one year, '05-'06, as a sublet. Parking was a nightmare. I recommend living on the other end of campus. At least one of the two elevators did not work three days a month. Water shut off every other month for a day during office hours, no problem if one showers before 8am. I loved the landscaping. Great for elementary school child to ride her bike on the west side of campus. Walls are thick, so neighbor-noise not a problem, there is city noise especially if you live in the northeast corner, near the fire department. And there are elderly folks in the towers needing paramedics in the night. Yes, kitchen is small in older tower units, and our bathroom was a tad old. But service people were prompt! Grounds security oddly vigilant against anyone taking pictures outdoors on the grounds (once I was forbidden to take a picture of my own kid dressed up for halloween, outdoors). I loved the variety of ethnicities living there. I don't understand why management only serves white-bread food and doesn't host any festivals other than Christmas and Easter - they're ignoring their demographics: East ------- and Koreans. Location is great: walking distance to four grocery stores, The Grove, Little Ethiopia, and there's this little bus that drives a loop through the mid-wilshire district if you've got the time to wait for it.

I like living here too. I have a huge ( 1400 sf) 3 bedroom, great neighbors and laundry in my unit. Yes, there are kids, but they're in bed by 8. College leases were terminated earlier this year and you could hear the rejoicing. No more students!!!!!!! Yes, it's old but it's safe and as a single woman, feel great about that. Walls are really thick so you don't hear neighbor's embarrassing sex noises! That alone, is worth the price of admission!

they hardly ignore the demographics. in fact, plb used my rent to build the massive influx of korean children a playground!! ain't that nice! Too bad the parents are too busy procreating to notice our largess. The provision of free parks doesnt stop them from leaving their screaming children unattended on the weekdays and having childrens parties on the weekends--all right outside my window. So move here if you love hoards of unattended children bothering you constantly, and if you like paying for the parks they dont bother using! thats right, your rent will subsidize the very children that will make this place nearly unbearably loud. plb has no shortage of lazy parents willing to take advantage of anyone and destroy your dreams of peace and quiet. Why? Well because they're parents of course!
