I moved into the park la brea apartments about 2 months ago and it has been the worst experience of my life. first off all everything cost extra parking, use of the pool, gym and computers. I pay 1700 a month but if i were to pay for all the extras they want you to pay i would be paing almost 2000 a month just to pay for all the extras like parking which is important to me seeing as how i am a young female that does not feel safe walking through a dark neighborhood at night. The security sucks last night there was a bum sleeping outside of my builing and when i called securtiy all they said was we can not do anything because he walked in not drove... What is the point off securty then' there is no A/C in most off the units and to have A/C your rent goes up almost 100 dollars. THere are two extremely nice places to each side of plb and the rent cost more but suriously everything is included unlike these apt. the management is terrible i have been trying to get ahold of some to get ahold off someone to see what steps i need to take to get out off my lease for over a week and have not heard back from anyone. Last night i finally called and said i was getting my attorney involved and with in seconds got a call back. When i moved in my apartment was so dirty there was food stuck all over the conters and in the microwave DISGUSTIN! there are cochroaches in the apartments as well as stairwells and hallways. I dont know about most people but that is not sanitary to me! NO ONE LIVE HERE!

You CAN get out of your lease. It may cost you an extra months rent, but it is well worth it! I did it. Everything you said is true and then some. Keep records os EVERYTHING. All phone calls, any letters, etc. Write down every time you phone and whether or not you get a response. There are many nicer, less expensive places in the same neighborhood that include all the things you mentioned, just take a walk one afternoon and see. I wish you the best. PLB has everyone bamboozled! They do not allow you to see the place you are actually renting, they show you a "model"... BULL. I could go on, but what I'd really like to do is get enough people involved and shut that whole place down!!

After living here for more than 8 years, I have to pay to move out a month after my lease is automatically renewed? They are total rip offs. Then the Koreans think they own the place, break all the rules and no one will say anthing to them because they are sue happy and hate anyone who is not Korean.
