I'pleased with my choice to live in Park La Brea. I am in a townhome, which has been nice. I walk to The Grove almost every night. It seems like most of the complaints on this site are from people in tower apartments. I haven't experienced many of the things written here. Yes, you have to pay for parking separate, but all in all it is a better deal than the other apartments in the area.

It really depends on where you end up in the complex with plb. Townhouses tend to have better parking situations and less noise. And having to pay extra for everything isn't so bad, except they often don't tell prospective tenants about the extra charges when listing the amenities.

You forgot to mention all the requirements to have the dog- like the proof of liability insurance (they told me $1 MILLION coverage) and the dog has to pass an interview with a random lease agent who is NOT a dog expert. Then there is extra monthly rent for the dog. And if you use Craigslist, you will find cheaper places. That's why I got the hell out of there.
All the negative reviews explain why this place is bad. All the good ones are vague and do not give any specifics

if this person really lived here they wouldn't be walking to the grove every night. they'd be so sick of the grove after their second visit.
