Park La Brea Apt in my opinion is not what most people looking from the outside might believe a property like this to be. The management never return your calls if you are logging a complaint. when you write letters with your complaints they almost never respond. for me personally they have treated me in what I presume to be rasist, of cours this is only my opinion base on experiences I have had and documented with letters to them which they have never responded to. Once they put a sign up about an ------- American mail that nearly got be beat up by a tenant who thaught I fit the discription of the signs they posted all around their appartment.
now they are upgrading the building i live in since June 2008 it is now October 2008 thay are still working on it and one of the workers informed me that it will be a another three months before they will be finish as of today 10.17.08 they are charging me the same rent. I cant open my windows in my apartment from 8AM to 6PM or they will send a patrol into my unit to close it even if I have no entry without my permission, and they charge me the same rent. They add to my rent that I have to pay for water and trash even if I am out of town and don't use the service. I could go on and on. my rating is one being the lowest and worse.

I can understand the utilities, since they don't have a way of monitoring who is there during the month, and it's in the lease upon signing up, but they should really lower your rent if you've been there for over a year, and they start construction for 6 months. Oh, and if they're telling you 3 more months, expect 5 or 6. The construction workers like to start really early in the morning, often before they're legally allowed to. So go ahead and call the cops if they do that. Don't bother yelling at the workers, as they don't give a ---- and will just do it again. Eventually PLB and the company they contract for the construction will get fined, and then they'll get the workers to start later. I moved out before someone suggested that to me. I think they're only allowed to work 8am-5pm monday through saturday.

Sorry to hear about your "racist" experiences. I've lived here for almost 20 years - and I can tell you that I've sent countless letters to management that haven't been responded to. The new CEO is particularly bad at this. I've emailed him several times and get absolutely no response. He didn't even have the courtesy to forward my email on to someone who could address my concern. All he seems to care about is allowing dogs on the property and building his new pool. There are people in PLB management who do care - however, their efforts are hampered by the general lack of concern from those at the top. Their attitude is - if you don't like it here - we can always rent your apartment to someone else. However, I've noticed them putting bigger and bigger families into the apartments - and these residents are moving out at a higher frequency. This higher turnover has led to residents who don't really care about their apartment or the common areas around their units - so there's been an increased level of trash and debris around the apartments - and PLB seems to be caring less and less. (Except for the units that are visible to prospective tenants that are being shown units.)

Listening to all these complaints, I'm glad I left when I did back in July 2007. I lived there for 9 years. At first the management was absolutely fantastic - they did in fact lower my rent for one year during the first year of construction on what is now Palazzo. But over time, management seemed to care less and less. And that patrol outfit?! Rude, obnoxious, nasty, not very intelligent, ad infinitum...

You did not give them the lowest rating. At 3.1, there is still room to go. You are giving their rating a bump upward.

yeah, what's with the 3.1 rating? sounds more like a 0 to me. pls change your rating. you're definitely giving them a boost in rating.
