This place has so many problems, and is really dirty. The landlord has changed most of the windows and ac units recently, so it's getting a little better. Parking is ok, I have only heard from one person that his stuff was stolen out of the garage, but mostly it's fine. The interior of the building is dirty, old and filthy, sometimes it smells. If you have problems with the unit, good luck to you, because you probably will have to wait for awhile before it will get fixed unless Katrina was going through your place. Don't expect any calls back from the management if you try to reach them. Other than that, it's just a cheap place that you don't have to pay a lot for in a nice area if you can stand all the problems.

I lived in the complex for 5 years while I was in school during the mid-90's. True, the building is old, and when I was living there, they had problems with sewage backing up in the lower garage area, missing screens from windows. However, the trade off was that it is in a nice safe, walkable neighborhood, and the rent was affordable for a single person. There were many long time residents there on fixed incomes, and the younger prof. tended to gather together during the weekend for get-togethers. Yes, we all knew the place is NOT LA chic, but it worked out for most of us during a certain point in our lives were we had limited budgets to work with! I would NOT call it a slum....just my humble opinion.
