Reasons NOT to rent:
1. Management leaves a LOT to be desired..rude, unprofessional, and unresponsive & unsympathetic to ANY problems that arise. Basically they treat you like you are a PROBLEM if you have issues with the apt. that need resolving.
2. Crime CENTRAL! Break-ins, vandalism, loud parties, graffiti in elevators, neighbors are horrific (college students who behave like animals) etc. The "Security Company" that patrols is pathetic, for lack of a better word, simply do not do their jobs.
3. Equity Apartments would rather spend big dollars on re-tiling the "lobby" and renovating the "office" than spending it on improving the property or the apartments themselves.
4. Apartments are dirty, dingy and need to be renovated (like the appliances, carpeting, countertops, cabinetry...they are DISGUSTING and OLD.) When I contacted the office about getting new appliances that actually WORK when you need them to I was scoffed at.
5. The noise is unbearable at times...planes, traffic..the apt. is so poorly insulated that you can hear EVERYTHING that happens outside.
Bottom line...I've rented with Equity before and I've never seen these kinds of things, it all comes down to POOR MANAGEMENT, these people should NOTICE these things and light a fire under it to correct the problems but they won't because all they care about is renting as many units as possible NOT about making you happy once you're here! The final blow is the rent itself..completely overpriced for what you receive..NOT A HOME, A CELL!
