This community was the 1st and only one I checked out in October. I immediately fell in love with the Old Hollywood Era style of the building itself. The decor was/is great, thus, I became a resident December '08. The staff is really nice and they are always accommodating. There are no roaches!!!! From what I understand, an evicted and unclean tenant is the one posting most of the negative reviews. Most of the residents have lived here for 10 years, SO THERE'S A REASON FOR THAT, and it's not because Will Smith is butt naked, cooking breakfast for us every morning. I have recommended my community to most of my co-workers and my cousin. The price is right, the location is right. We are at the end of Korea town and before you get to the more congested side of Wilshire @MacArthur Park. 20-30yo, should really check this place out. I don't complain about noise, cuz I'm usually the one playing guitar or singing, and no one has complained, yet. There is a nice gym, and the computers were stolen 2 weeks after I moved in. Not a big deal, just an inconvenience, but I'm not going to die.. Plus, it sounds like NYC and if you're a citygirl, this is your place. You have a choice of parking behind the building for $100 or the parking garage across the street(not a block away), for $50. I chose the latter, cuz that extra $50 is being spent at La Fonda, which is a great Mexican restaurant across from the building. Oh yea, as a resident there, we get 15% off at La Fonda. I don't fear for my safety,it's like any other place, you just need to be aware of your surroundings. YOU CAN'T BE A FRAIDY CAT ALL YOUR LIFE! Finally, I hope you've enjoyed my review, because everything I've said is the TRUTH!! I have no reason to lie. They're not giving me free rent, weekly maid service, or a date with Will Smith, so believe me when i say..I LOVE IT!

LMAO...wow. that is an all time low for the management. If this does not give it away "I immediately fell in love with the Old Hollywood Era style of the building" that has management written all over it. I lived there for a year and the least I can say is that I am now starting my law suit against them. They actually owe me money for overpaid rent, no electricity for 2 weeks, no heat in the winter, and no water for over 48 hours. And they have the nerve to take my entire deposit claiming they needed to replace the carpet and the repaint the walls. This is after I did a walk through with management and they wrote that everything was in good condition, so I am definitely going to win this one in court. And by the way, I have pictures of the roaches in the computer lab, the gym was ruined for 4 months with water damage, I have pictures of the swat team coming out to shut down the after hours club across the street. Helicopters and 20 cop cars came out to shut it down, and by the way....this is where you park your car for the $50. My car got hit by after hours drunk....and no one took responsibility for it. And the people that live there for 10 years, well they live there because they have a set rent that management can not raise. And the poor people are constantly threatened so they can kick them out and charge higher rent. So some are paying $300 a month and no utilities, and every one else is paying an averaged utility bill while some pay nothing!!! Good luck here with the slum lords!!!!!!

It is not true that most of the tenants have been there for 10 years. In 2003 and 2004 the building management paid off most of the tenants to get out so they could renovate to the fake faux "luxury" debacle. Thee are only 2 or 3 people remaining, one of which has been there since the 1970's. Get your facts straight before you accuse people of being evicted and unclean.

LMAO What this review fails to tell you is the building is right next to McCrack head park. The area is gang infested and the management sucks. HIV F*gs , white trash and low class beaners lives in this building

Wow this doesn't sound like management at all... Are you sure you moved into the brick building across the street from the elementary school, movie backlot, and all night rave building? This is such a fake review that entirely misleading the innocent and unexpecting. BY THE WAY PEOPLE the parking lot that "sexual" mentioned is about 10-15min away and that's coming from someone who used to live in apt 616 (that's the time it took me to walk down the stairs across the street and up the parking garage to tenant level 5 or 6)... I wasn't kicked out I left after management continued to enter my apartment time after time with no advance notice. I have proof... caught them on hidden web cam. They said that only 3 people would be in my apartment video showed 8.

Who writes like this? - Also, the guard revealed this little ploy that management posted in an earlier review - a review that sounds suspiciously similar to this current review. Whatever or whomever you are - this place is not in a good area, and is definitely overpriced - I really have better things to do than post on this board - but please stop "dupping" people into living here. To apartment hunters: Read ALL the other posts, and make up your own mind. Learn from our mistake. A fast search on west side rentals, or craigslist should give you better alternatives.

Oh wow, for the last time I'M NOT MGT.!!!! But thanks for the compliment, I aim to sound professional, since it's what I have to do on the streets and in front of the camera. Future residents-the parking garage IS NOT 15 minutes away, but like I mentioned b4..You also have the option to park behind the building. ANYONE can check out the area like I did and make their own decisions. If I really felt unsafe, I wouldn't be here. The gym is nice, not perfect!!! There are 2 treadmills and one elyptical machine, along with other non-electrical equipment. One of the treads is out of commission, that's it!!! The people who are posting the idiotic responses apparently have an issue w/the current or previous mgt.company, but I don't,so that's why my posting is postive. Furthermore, I'm just not a negative person!!! Three of my neighbors have been here for 10 years, so I do know what I'm talking about. ONCE AGAIN THIS IS NOT A FAKE REVIEW, get your facts straight, research the area and it's surroundings. I'm sure anyone who moved in did the necessary research right?? Then became a tenant and all of the sudden, the place is a dump ran by slumlords. I was shown, by Jackie, the gym, computer room, parking garage, and my apartment. I, MYSELF, ME, THE RESIDENT, checked out the rest of the area. Eventhough I carry my weapon of choice everywhere, I'm not afraid to walk in my area at night. However, common sense should tell you that if you have no reason to be out at 3am by the park, then dont..We are in the Rampart police district, and yes it has a reputation, mostly in movies..but hello-THIS IS HOLLYWOOD!! Everything here is exaggerated. So folks please only continue to post your opinions and don't hate on me for mine.

well, everyone is extreme here. short and simple here. the clubs have stopped, so far, the movie lot thing is cool. i saw that one guy from scrubs. they were filming csi new york at the park. i don't always feel safe. someone did walk up to me when i was walking my dog, he smelled of piss and his hair was ratted and he just followed me. i carry my mase and knife so i'm prepared. it's just uncomfortable. the gym is cool. i did go. then one tenant kept talking and flirting analyzing my "good shape and curves". i don't like that. i go to the gym to work out. not to pick up. then another day i attempted the gym another day, some pervert with his ipod just kept staring at me and smirking while i was on the treadmill. ugh. can you work out and mind your own business please. that was when i first moved in. i don't use the gym anymore and that was one of the things that i moved there for. now i'm broke as hell because of budget cuts and i'm stuck here. i'm registered on westside rentals and believe me, if i could save enough for the deposit, i'm out. there are spacier apts for less. trust. and i know it's the city. you get what you paid for. i understand that as well. but it aint great.
