HAS REALLY GONE DOWN HILL THE PAST 3 YEARS
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 10/17/2004
Years at this apartment: 1989 - 2002
I lived there for over 13 years
I had a top floor north facing apartment.
Once they started developing the Playa Vista project, it became unbearable to be home during the day.
Yes we can hear and feel the traffic on the north side. The south side apartments really are the worse
This playa vista development has run this once charming peacful neighborhood into the ground.
The building moves all day long. This is while the construction is going on 2 miles down the street.
I really feel they are going to undermine the foundation once they start directly across the street
I lived in this building during the Northridge earthquake and I learned first hand what the liquifaction factor is. I was convinced we were on the epicenter
The building needs a new roof. When it would rain, water would literally drip on my face while I was sleeping.
So there must be a problem with mold by now with all the previous water damage.
The previous manager Gary, was a dream. He protected us and took good care of this building. This new one who just baby sits the building, is a real jerk.
The building had such nice tennants till Gary left and now it is a revolving door of just any one they can get to pay the rent.
They are basing their rent on the new playa vista development ( whos prices are overrated)
this building has some serious structural defects and I would not be surpised if they had to retrofit it.
also it is full of termites, monster spiders, ants and occasional mice can get into your apartment from the holes behind the stove and under the sinks. There are so many cracks on the floors (under the carpeting)that ants get through and they use to crawl all over me IN BED!! Who knows where else.
They were saying for over 10 years now that the building needs to be tented and exterminated. Yet they wont because it would cost them too much to move the tenants to a hotel while it is done.
WHat was once a safe clean paradise is now a dump. So much greed has taken over this whole area and they are going to fail. The playa vista development is devaluing the property around the area, not enhancing it. They bring in too much traffic and low life section 8 housing. A big disappointment for what was advertised and fought for all these years.
good luck
