It's funny reading a review from someone who lived here in 1978. Or even 1995 - not exactly relevant. I've lived here for almost 5 years, and while there are some minor issues that aren't perfect, overall this is a great place to live. The location is perfect for people who want to live walking distance to bars, restaurants, Arclight, Amoeba, shopping, etc. A 2 minute drive and you're on the 101, but the building is very quiet and feels "tucked away" even though it's in the middle of Hollywood.
The pool is the main attraction in the summertime, with gorgeous palm trees and a community feel. The people who live here for the most part are very friendly and respectful. There's a community BBQ pit that is great for parties.
Some units are definitely better than others - some are dark and don't get much natural light, but overall the units are good sized and reasonably priced. There's some negative reviews on this site that definitely seem exaggerated and/or outdated & irrelevant.
