Promenade Towers

Promenade towers should immediately remove the title "luxury" from their name. Maybe it was once considered as "luxury," when it was erected in the 1970's, but that is no more. The place is old and dirty. It seems like the water is turned off at least 10 times a month (b/c the management is too cheap to replace the plumbing, so they just patch it up whenever something goes wrong), not to mention the power and the annoying fire drills. Aside from the shameless attempt by the owners to desribe their complex as "luxury," the worst thing about the place is the parking!!! A luxury apartment that needs to sell their 1st level of parking to nearby businesses to make an extra buck, while the rest of the tenants need to leave their vehicles w/ strange "valet" personnel' Seems a bit strange for a place that is apparently so "luxury." All jokes aside, if you're the type that comes home later than 8pm on a weekday, good luck finding parking. You'll have to leave you car w/ the "valet," then go back to the "valet" in the morning, at which point they'll tell you they moved your car to level 6, then you're forced to hike up to level 6 to retrieve your vehicle...all of which takes an extra 15 minutes in the morning when you're rushing to get to work or school. To put it plainly, the place sucks!!!

Edwardmna was right about most things in his review. However Promenade Towers was build in the middle 80's and it definitely use to be luxury. A resident for 12 years I have watched it deteriorate and it does not seem to be getting any better. I am definitely looking for a place to move. I too am tired of the water being turned off, elevators down, noise level, etc. No, it is no longer luxury but the best thing for the rent downtown.
