Major drawbacks, but lots of plusses

The major drawback to the Rancho is hearing everything. I live on the 2nd floor, and I hear the people beside me on either side, above me, running around at all hours of the night, I know when my neighbor gets into the shower, etc. Also, the management bleeds you dry, with the insurance, fridge rental, parking charge, various monthly charges they will tack on - it sucks. Also, the business center can be closed at random hours, which is obnoxious. The parking spots are so crammed in that it often takes a few times to park, and even then you will probably hit your neighbor's car door. The staff is nice and helpful, except Lamar, who is nice but a bit ineffectual. I like the location - walking distance to a lot of different things. Los Feliz Boulevard can be a real pain, but I like the central location (right off the 5, easy access to Downtown, Pasadena, Eastside, etc). The skunks and other wildlife are annoying. I love this place but I will not renew my lease when it comes up... I'd rather live somewhere less fancy where I am not subjected to every step my neighbor takes.
