I moved in while the building was still under construction. i expected noise. i got a lot more than that. when they renovated the unit above mine, the workers pissed in the toilet before it was hooked up correctly, resulting in their piss leaking through my bathroom ceiling. this was not considered an emergency by management, although it was clearly unsanitary and hazardous to my health. it was not taken care of for two days. about two weeks later, the workers either incorrectly installed or damaged leveling compound in the same unit, which came through my ceiling again. again, not taken care of for two days. the hallways were not properly ventilated during painting and i got chemical poising from inhaling fumes as a result.

the fire alarms go off every time it rains, which clearly indicates that they are faulty. i was rarely home, as i am a student who works, and i dreaded going there. on more than 10 occasions i was woken by alarms at 3 in the morning. the fire department doesnt even show up to check anymore. ive lost count of how many managers we went through in one year. to give her credit, at least monica tries. brittany on the other hand is one of the most unprofessional, rude, and incompetent people i have ever come across. she is extremely disrespectful and dismissive whether you are asking for something to be fixed or a package.

the building is not secure and doors are often left unlocked if not open completely. the garage was broken into and my car suffered a large dent in the side as a result. the night security guard is a joke. if she even gets up out of the chair in the lobby she reads her romance novels in, she has no idea how to handle an emergency situation.

i read negative reviews on here before i signed my lease thinking those people were just bitter or difficult. dont do this to yourself. i now live in an incredible loft in west hollywood for much less with great management. keep looking, youll find something else worth your money.

You wrote a well thought out review...Thanks for the info... I am from NJ and I'm looking to move to socal/LA area. You said that you moved to a great loft in West Hollywood, I was looking in that area too, but most of the places I'm intersted in (like this one) just has some awful reviews. Do you mind giving me some advice and what community do you live in/recommend? Thanks!

its difficult because no building is perfect, you know? my new building that i still love had some not-so-good reviews too, but if you do your research and bring up the things people have said, you can find out if the problems were addressed. in my case, my new building was honest and had addressed the issues, and they are not a problem anymore. my new building is called poinsettia apartments. the good area to look in is bordered by melrose on the south, hollywood on the north, highland on the east, and la cienega on the west. good luck... (and on a random note, i'm from the east coast, too!)

Any updates on this? I went, took the tour and am considering leasing as they have a good special on 1 unit. I really like the area. Anyone still living here that can tell me if its' improved (or not)? Thanks! :)

I am a current resident and have to say I really like the building. I never has an issue with the previous manager, but we have a new manager who is great and if something needs to be fixed fixes it right away. And there is a new security guard who patrols the building and garage through out the night. The fire alarm issue was resolved as it was a bunch of people drinking and pulling the alarms in the middle of the night. So security had called in the false pulls, hence the fire department not showing up. We had a real fire alarm go off recently that was tripped by an illegal charcoal grill and the fire department showed up.
