We lived in the building for over two years before the management changed. After a verbal altercation in which both my boyfriend and I were called directly called "liars" we decided it was time to move on.
We could put up with the obscene rate increase (from $1025 to $1350 for a 572 square foot apt-with no parking, I might add) and the elevator that broke down at least 4 times a month (it is 1920's "luxury"). It was the 7 days/week of loud, shoddy renovations that destroyed original, historic fixtures, tiles and hardwood floors and the exploitation of young immigrants as a cheap source of labor for said renovations that was a final straw.
This is one slimy man.
