managers lied to me on the phone & don't remove ads for rented apts

I saw two different Craigslist ads for apartments, one for July and for August. I called about both, after seeing their ads. First, they don't pull their ads when the apartments are rented unless you complain about it. Secondly, two people (a woman, and on a different call a man) took my phone number the first time around (the man actually confirmed what he had rather than having me give it again, so I know they had it). I was told the second apartment would be ready at the end of July or early August. When I called in late July the woman told me they don't take phone numbers!
This isn't the kind of place where my 805 credit rating wants to live!
