We lived here for exactly a year and tell you what' This place is the most unclean apartment We had ever lived anywhere in USA...And this is after shelling out the exorbitant rent, the apartment management charges you for their studios/single bedrooms...

PROS:

The only advantage this place has is, proximity to Miracle Mile/Wilshire/downtown/KoreaTown areas...If your workplace happens to be around this area, then you would be better placed to live here...

CONS:

MEAN MANAGEMENT:

I cannot reiterate this fact again and again...We tried moving to a single bedroom apartment and for some reason, the leasing agent(black lady, dont remember her name) insisted on inspecting our existing apartment...Like a good resident, we vacuumed the apartment in the middle of the week and kept the apartment very clean for the inspection...The leasing agent comes in the next day, and directly goes to kitchen and looks at the utensils we had kept in the sink for cleaning in dishwasher...and tells us, we are the one, responsible for roaches, and says, we cannot move to a new apartment...

What I didn't understand was, how would these utensils attract the roaches on the street, unless they agree to the fact that roaches do exist in all their buildings...they didn't agree to that...they made it look like, we had roaches in our apartment coz we had utensils in our kitchen, when the fact is, every other review on this site and every other resident on the apartment complains about roaches however clean you keep the apartment...Add to the fact that, we lived in 3rd floor and not on 1st floor...There was no way, roaches could have come into our apartment unless they were already in the building...

HOPELESS SECURITY:

Every other day, we will hear the police helicopter circling our apartment neighborhood with flashlights...That made us really tense, coz you never know, the culprit might jump into your balcony and can hold you as an hostage...

UNHYGIENIC SWIMMING POOL:

the swimming pool was a big mess with all kind of stuff floating in it...You wouldn't want to catch any disease swimming in that pool of germs...

POOR MAINTENANCE:

Just walk-in to any building and you will know what I mean...The management allows pets and it is a common sight to see pet droppings/pet stains on the corridor carpet..The residents dont even have courtesy to clean up their pet's mess...
And elevators dont work half the year...We had to endure that pain first hand, when we didn't have working elevator when we moved in...We had to carry our stuff in stairs and our movers charged us a fortune...

The roaches are definitely inherent to the building... it's not just you, believe me. I have decided to stop cooking in general because they are around all the time and I don't want to make the problem worse than it is.

I didn't have roaches for a year, then the guy in front of me had his apt sprayed and guess where the critters went? since then i've been battling the menace, sometimes i appear to have won, only to see them sneak back. i'm at my wit's end. anyone got any leads on a good apt?

Well I have been having roaches here in this apartment for the first time in 5 years after someone from next door moved as well. I have gotten my apartment sprayed 3 times and still I am battling with them. I hate roaches and the management does not seem to care at all..

HIGH FEMALE STAFF TURNOVER - EMOTIONAL UNPROFESSIONAL NOTICES TO TENANTS It seems to me that the the lady who has been given free reign to run this place is learning as she goes, has a chip on her shoulder, and is seeking attention for what is essentially a glorified secretary position. At least once a month, we have to endure angry, juvenile notices replete with exclamation marks and capital letters as though they are doing us a favor by letting us live here. They are too lazy now to write rent receipts and too anti-tenant to bring back the night box, something that no other management company had a problem with as it served to be a convenience for tenants who worked various hours. Yes, we are aware that you want all the old tenants gone, but what good are a bunch of vacant units? And what's up with the turnover in staff and why are all the veteran staff here unhappy with you? How about a less insecure, more mature management lead for Chadwick, City Heights, or whatever name this place is to be? How about some training in customer service and treating people with common courtesy and respect?
